During several trips across Interstate 76 in the high plains of eastern Colorado, I passed an exit where I noticed an abandoned service center on the north side of the highway. On one trip ,out of curiosity, I stopped to look around and decided to make some pictures of this deserted place.
A tacky newer convenience store and gas station had been constructed nearby. I still wonder why the older property was abandoned and left to slowly disintegrate into the earth. Perhaps this is what progress really looks like in America.
